Dear Reader,
A young shepherd stood before a prophet, and oil flowed upon his head. Heaven had spoken, he was king. It should have been the beginning of celebration, visibility, and influence. But instead of a throne, David found himself in caves. Instead of applause, he encountered isolation. Instead of honor, he experienced misunderstanding, betrayal, and process.
This is the mystery many people do not understand: God will often announce a man publicly…and then build him privately.
Don’t despise hidden seasons. Because some of the greatest works of God happen where nobody is watching.
Many people want the crown, but cannot survive the cave. They desire visibility without formation. Influence without discipline. Platforms without process. But heaven does not release weight carelessly. God first prepares men in hidden places before trusting them with public influence.
The cave was not evidence that David had been forgotten. It was proof that he was being prepared. Because the cave trains what the crown will expose.
This is where many become frustrated with God. They assume obscurity means delay. They interpret silence as abandonment. They compare their hidden season to another person’s visible moment and begin to question their journey.
But hear this deeply...
What God builds slowly, He often builds deeply.
The hidden season is not empty. It is loaded with formation. It is where God breaks pride quietly, develops endurance silently, purifies motives deeply, and strengthens character away from applause.
Public influence does not create a man, it reveals him.
The spotlight magnifies whatever private life has produced. That is why hidden seasons matter. Because if a man is not built privately, visibility can destroy what gifting alone cannot sustain.
Some men are asking God for platforms while heaven is still trying to build structure inside them.
Don’t rush the process.
Stay faithful in hidden places. Stay consistent when nobody applauds you. Stay surrendered when growth feels slow and invisible. Because preparation is proof that God has not forgotten you.
Some of the greatest men in Scripture were first shaped in obscurity. Moses disappeared into the wilderness before confronting Pharaoh. Joseph endured prisons before entering palaces. Even Jesus Christ spent years in hidden preparation before stepping into public ministry.
God values formation more than speed.
Now let’s make this practical:
1. Stay faithful in small responsibilities
Consistency builds capacity. Men who dishonor small assignments cannot sustain larger ones.
2. Stop comparing your timeline
Every process is unique. Comparison blinds you to what God is building in you.
3. Use hidden seasons intentionally
Develop discipline, wisdom, depth, and character. Obscurity is training ground, not wasted time.
4. Remain deeply connected to God
Private communion sustains public impact. Men who neglect God secretly eventually collapse publicly.
5. Focus on becoming, not just being seen
Visibility without preparation becomes destruction. Let God build substance inside you first.
Hear this clearly…
The cave is not your grave. It is your preparation ground.
One day, what God formed privately in you will speak publicly with undeniable weight. The discipline, tears, silence, hidden obedience, and unseen battles will eventually become visible strength.
So don’t envy visible people whose process you do not understand.
Focus on becoming. Because when heaven finally reveals a prepared man… history responds.
If you refuse to quit in hidden seasons, declare boldly:
“I WILL TRUST GOD’S PROCESS.”
And if you understand that the hidden season is shaping you for something greater, say it again with conviction:
“I WILL NOT DESPISE HIDDEN SEASONS.”
